• Performs full adult 2D and Doppler diagnostic sonography and carotid and peripheral arterial Doppler examination in a professional and confidential manner.
• Responsible for maintaining daily flow of patients. The sonographer should remain within the allotted time allowed for each test to maintain this flow.
• Prepares patients for testing and explain testing procedures.
• Assumes responsibility for the safety, mental and physical comfort of patients while in sonographer’s care.
• Addresses problems of patient care as they arise and make decisions to appropriately resolve the problem.
• Inputting of data into EMR (Cerebrum) correctly is of utmost importance and must be strictly adhered to.
• Information on requisitions must be referred to when inputting data to avoid errors.
• Creates preliminary reports in Cerebrum including performing measurements, pathology and other findings.
• Uses independent judgement during the sonographic examination to accurately differentiate between normal and pathologic findings, and report abnormal findings to covering physician for assessment.
• Transfer all studies to ECHOPAC.
